This page explains how to apply to come to the United Kingdom under the investor category.

To apply from inside the United Kingdom, you need to use the BUS application form and guidance, which you can download from the right side of this page. You must read the guidance before completing the application form. You can also get a copy of the form by calling the application forms unit on 0870 241 0645 and they will post you a copy.

Applying from inside the United Kingdom

You should make your application before your existing permission to stay in the United Kingdom runs out. If your existing permission requires you to complete a certain period to qualify for further or indefinite leave to remain in the United Kingdom, you shouldn't apply more than 28 days before you complete the relevant period. The date of application is that on which you post it. Your application may be delayed or refused if you apply too early in a category in which you have to complete a set period, for instance in categories leading to settlement in the United Kingdom.

Once you have completed your application you can submit it using the Royal Mail postal service or courier. We are unable to accept emailed or faxed applications.

Applying from outside the United Kingdom

You must apply for entry clearance before you travel to the United Kingdom.

You can also check with the British missions overseas to find out about ways in which you can apply for entry clearance.
