This page contains details for highly skilled workers on their eligibility to work in the UK. SPecifically, this page details the requirements that highly skilled workers must meet in order to qualify under the highly skilled workers points based scehem. The highly skilled workers scheme will allow you wo work, train or study in the UK.
Highly skilled workers applying under the highly skilled workers points based scheme must satisfy the following criteria. If you do not meet these criteria your application under the highly skiled workers scheme will be refused.
You must score:
75 points for category as detailed under the highly skilled migrant programme and
10 points for English language; and
10 points for available funds.

Highly Skilled Workers: who Should Apply?
Highly skilled workers not from the European Economic Area or Switzerland should apply under the highly skilled workers scheme. If you are a highly skilled worker you should apply if the following are true:
Highly skilled workers do not need to apply under the highly skilled workers scheme if:
you are an EEA or Swiss national;
you are a British overseas territories citizen, unless you are from one of the sovereign base areas in Cyprus;
you are a Commonwealth citizen with permission to enter or stay in the United Kingdom because at least one of your grandparents was born here;
your spouse or civil partner, unmarried or same-sex partner, or (if you are under 18) one of your parents has permission to stay in the United Kingdom under Tier 1 (General) - highly skilled worker of the points-based system; or
you have no conditions or time limit attached to your stay.
If you are a national of Bulgaria or Romania you must not work until we have given you permission, unless you are exempt. You should read the section for Bulgarian and Romanian nationals for details.
